COLE ROOFING’S GREEN ROOF GIVEAWAY YMCA of Frederick County – NON-PROFIT OVERVIEW The YMCA of Frederick County is a non-profit charitable organization that has been serving the Frederick community for 152 years. Each year, we provide innovative, quality programs and services to over 11000 members, 29000 program participants, and clients of approximately 20 community agencies. Our mission is to put Christian principals into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. We address our cause by offering a vast array of programming and services in our three primary areas of focus: Youth Development (nurturing the potential of every child and teen), Healthy Living (improving the community’s health and well-being), and Social Responsibility (giving back and providing support to our neighbors). We’re far more than just another health club or recreation center – see below for a sampling of what we offer! Focus on Youth Development • Child Care — We are the largest provider of child care in Frederick County with over 1300 children currently in our care. We have an on-site Child Development Center, as well as child care for children and young adults with special needs. Off-site, we offer before & after school child care in 25 elementary schools, and operate 2 grant-funded Judy Centers for low income preschoolers. • Education and Leadership — We offer part-time Preschool programs, classes in Arts
