When it comes to simple weight loss, exercise is king. So much so, in fact, that if you dread even the word “exercise” you may as well forget about losing weight. However, if you can devote just one-hour each day to working out, then the four exercises in this article will strip away the pounds like nobody’s business. Now, that’s not to say that no other exercise will help you lose weight, but if you’re looking for rapid weight reduction, then these four are all you’ll need.

An important fact to keep in mind is that to lose weight you should perform both strength and aerobic exercises. Strength exercises will build muscle and increase your metabolism thereby burning excess fat over the long-haul; while aerobics will get your blood flowing, increase your lung capacity, and burn calories.

The four weight loss exercises:

1. Walking. This is a great one for those who hate the idea of “exercise.” You don’t have to join a gym; you don’t have to buy any special equipment. Even just a half hour a day of continuous walking will give you a weight loss charge. Even better, though, is if you could walk for two half hour sessions each day, once in the morning, once at night. This will help burn the calories you eat throughout the day.

2. Skipping. Remember in grade school when everybody had fun skipping through the playground? Did you know that not only was it fun but that it was an excellent form of exercise? Try to do fifty repetitions every day. As you find these fifty becoming easier, add ten more, then another ten, and so on. The more you do the more calories you’ll burn. Skip everywhere you go!

3. Step-ups. Taking the stairs rather than using the elevator or escalator is a great way to get in shape. Start with only one flight of stairs and you’ll be amazed at how out of breath you may find yourself when you reach the top. Once you can do one flight, add one more. Then add another. If you run out of stairs, you can always walk back down and then have another go. Increasing the speed of your climb will also increase the weight you lose. Alternatively, you could use a stair climber.

4. Squats. Doing these everyday can contribute to your weight loss more than any other exercise that you can do. As they are difficult to do, try doing them for just a few minutes at a time and don’t feel discouraged because you can’t do more than ten without tiring. After a while, you’ll be able to add more repetitions and increase the time you spend doing these.

Using these simple weight loss exercises will dramatically aid with weight loss. It won’t take long to see the effects they have on your body when you look in the mirror. With just these four exercises, you’re sure to peel away the fat in no time.
