One of the largest institutes for Yoga and Ayurveda in the country, Patanjali Yogpeeth is Swami Ramdev’s dream project which aims specifically at promoting India’s ancient science of Ayurveda and the celebrated exercises of Yoga. His dream is being realised in the form of the growing number of people who are benefiting from the services.

The Yogpeeth:

Named after the father of Yoga, Patanjali Yogpeeth is working in the field of researching as well as teaching the various aspects and benefits of Yoga and Ayurveda. The various services offered by the institution are as follows:

O.P.D Ayurveda:

Consisting of 5 sections, namely Kaya chikitsa, Prasuti, Bal, Shalya and Shalkya, the OPD at the Patanjali Yogpeeth is the world’s largest with a capacity to attend to six to ten thousand patients per day.

There are 34 chambers in which various Viadyas sit and see the patients.

Free Consultancy through letters, fax and Mails and Phone:

A team of 50 Viadyas work to answer the queries of the patients who call or write to the Yogpeeth. There is also a call centre which works from 6 AM to 10 PM daily to answer to the calls of patients who want to consult a Viadya.

Cardiology and Research Centre:

Equipped with various modern day technologies like ECG (Echocardiography), TMT (Treadmill), Angiography by CT-Scan & MRI, CT-Heart, MR-Cardiac and Ultra-sonography of cardiovascular system, the Patanjali Yogpeeth is well versed to treat the patients having heart trouble.

Imaging and Research Centre:

Patanjali Yogpeeth has all the modern day technologies for better imaging services. For Ultrasound there are machines including WIPRO GE Vivid 3 Pro & SIEMENS G-20. There are also the latest X ray machines like the 500 MA SIEMENS. The most up-to-date machines are also there for MRI, CT Scan and Radiography etc.

Pathology and Lab Research Centre:The pathology lab services at the Yogpeeth are comprehensive and exhaustive with various disciplines including: Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology & Serology, Endocrinology, Nutrition and Metabolism, Infectious diseases, Histopathology, Cytopathology and Immuno- Histochemistry.

Shat Karma Clinic and Research Centre:

There are six Karmas, as described by the great sages of the ancient times that are done to purify the body and lead a healthier life. These are: Kunjari Kriya, Jal Neti, Sutra Neti, Shankha Prakshalam, Trataka and Yoga Nidra.

At the shat karma clinic, these six karmas are performed.

Panchkarma Clinic and Research Centre:

The Panchkarma is a very important Ayurvedic treatment for healing the body for various ailments as well as increasing its immunity. There are various steps of the treatment that are done under the guidance of Acharya Balkrishna. The treatments are strictly done on the line of Ayurvedic principles.

Surgical Clinic and Research Centre:

Susruta Samhita is probably the oldest text on surgery, with its writer, Susruta, being the father of Surgery. The text as well some others have laid a guideline for surgery the world over and Ayurveda has practiced all kinds of surgery, from simple to extremely complicated ones, for a long time.

The surgery at the Patanjali Yogpeeth works on the principals of Susruta and other ancient Ayurvedic surgeons who have describes various aspects of surgery in a very detailed manner.

Dental Clinic:

Providing a world class service, the Dental clinic is equipped with the modern amenities as well as machines and provides such as free dental checkups, ultra sonic scaler, fibro optic air motor, light cure motor, intra oral camera with LCD camera etc.

Ophthalmological Clinic:

Incorporating Ayurveda with ophthalmology, the Patanjali Yogpeeth has a well equipped department that deals with the ailments of the eye. Operative procedures are also done here.

Free Yoga classes

Yajna and Jadi Buti Chikitsa:

Yajna or Agnihotri is a ritual done in the Indian religion to purify the atmosphere, attaining worldly pleasures or just for the peace of mind. Regular Yajna are performed in the premises.

Free Yoga classes as well as Yoga Science camps are provided by well learned yoga instructors.


There are free Ayurvedic consultancy, investigation and free distribution of free medicines to the weaker section of the society.

The Patanjali Yogpeeth is located at a distance of 20 kilometres from Haridwar, near the town of Bahadrabad on the Delhi-Haridwar National Highway.
