3 Ways to lose weight without feeling hungry
Article by Bill Nad
Many people fail at dieting because they can’t live with all the restrictions that are inherent in dieting. People are sick and tired of hearing that they “can’t have this” or they “can’t have that”. Depending on diets you’ve tried some of them may have smaller portions and leave you feeling hungry a few hours later, and according to the particular diet plan, you can’t eat until the next scheduled meal. So, you go through the day feeling deprived. When this happens it’s natural for us to deviate from the plan and sabotage our diet. Here are three things that you can do to help fight the urges to eat too much.
Drink plenty of water throughout the day. OK, you’ve heard it before, but it’s just as important now as when you heard it the first time. There are times that our brains sometimes interpret hunger incorrectly, when in fact, we are thirsty. Proper hydration is a must in any diet plan to allow your body to get rid of waste. However, it can also be used as a temporary mechanism to put something in your stomach to help stop the feeling of hunger. And best of all, it’s zero calories!
Do Some Light Exercise
Light exercise may not make the hunger pangs go away, but it can be a distraction to help you get through to the next meal. A moderately paced walk may be just what you need to take your mind off of the food that will destroy all of the hard work you’ve put into your diet thus far. Don’t give in, and get up and start moving! This is particularly important in the initial stages of any diet as your body adjusts to not receiving as many calories as it has in the past.
Chew on something
Chew on something very low calorie, or better yet, calorie free. It will help trick you psychologically into thinking that you’re eating something. Sugar free gum is great for this method of temporarily satisfying your hunger urges. If sugar free gum just isn’t working well for you then choose a low calorie snack. Almonds are great for this and packed with muscle building protein.
Remember, you are particularly susceptible to snacking in the beginning of your diet because your body is still adjusting. Be patient with yourself and stay on track. Use these three tips to help you lose weight without feeling hungry.
